ST. CLOUD - About two months after a lightning strike and fire, clean-up of the former Roosevelt school site in St. Cloud has begun.

District 742 Business Manager Kevin Januszewski says the clean-up process officially started today (Friday). He says it will take about three weeks to clear the site.

The process took a while to get started because asbestos in the school built in 1920 required oversite by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Insurance claims, quotes from contractors, and city permits were also required.
