Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Clarence L. Jonas, age 91, of Waite Park who passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 surrounded by his family at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Mark Innocenti will officiate, with Reverends Mark Willenbring and Kenneth Thielman concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Waite Park. Family and friends may call from 9-11 a.m. at the Church on Monday.

Clarence was born on April 3, 1924 to Joseph and Olivia (Geris) Jonas in St. Martin. He married Lucille E. Olmscheid on June 6, 1950 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in St. Martin. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Catholic United Financial and Nocturnal Adoration Society. He was also a member of National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees (N.A.R.V.R.E). He was a carpenter by trade, and retired as a Carman for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always kind-hearted and loved spending time with his family and friends. Clarence enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, going to the lake and fishing.

Clarence is survived by his children, Carol (Greg) Mick, of Waite Park, Kenneth (Lisa Rapp), of Waite Park, JoAnn (Tom) Schmidt, of St. Cloud, Lori (Paul) Gross, of Waite Park, Patty (John) Ampe of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Baldwin, Stephanie (Maki) Camell, and Kelly Mick, Michael, Emily and Nate Schmidt, Leah and Jake Gross, Isabelle, Anna and Jack Ampe; great-grandson, Clark Baldwin; siblings, LeRoy, Leander, and Margie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lou; son, Duane; and siblings, Leo, Ron, Dorothy, Bernie and Marie.
