Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Clara T. Wensman, age 96, who passed away Monday, June 26 at Country Manor Healthcare Center in Sartell. Rev. Timothy Baltes will officiate and burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Munich. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.

Clara was born March 14, 1921 in Spring Hill to Peter & Philomenia (Laubach) Winter. She married Leander Wensman on May 29, 1944 in Spring Hill. She lived in New Munich prior to moving to Sartell. Clara worked in the Bakery at St. John’s University for 27 years, retiring as the Head Baker. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Christian Women, and volunteered as a greeter, with the funeral lunches, and various other positions. Clara enjoyed sewing, walking, gardening, swimming, and aerobics. She volunteered with the Red Cross and taught Bible studies. Clara loved her grandchildren very much.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Jerry) Nelson of Andover and Tony (Lynn) Wensman of Sartell; son-in-law, Chuck Goebel of Belgrade; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leander; daughter, Margie Goebel; infant child, Terese; sisters, Sr. Angnesiene, OSF, Isabelle Kelly, Alma Winter, Rose Kuecks, Mary (Marie) Winter and Teckla Mohs; and brothers, Claude and Nick Winter.
