City to Look at Smoke-Free Barden Park

ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud City Council will be asked to consider making Barden Park smoke free after the Park and Recreation Board approved a recommendation to do do.

Barden Park is near St. Cloud State University and a neighborhood coalition says the park is being littered with cigarette butts as smokers gather there to light up.

Mayor Dave Kleis says it will be up to the council whether to make Barden Park smoke-free.

If the council approves the measure, Barden Park would become the city's first smoke-free park.
