ST. CLOUD -- When St. Cloud City Administrator Mike Williams begins his new role as Stearns County administrator Monday, Matt Staehling will also start his new role as city administrator.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has named Staehling the new St. Cloud City Administrator after working as St. Cloud Attorney for the past 20 years.

Staehling says he is excited to begin a new chapter in his career.

"I've had a great career with the city of St. Cloud so far. I think it's another challenge and I hope to continue to build on what Mike Williams has accomplished," says Staehling.

Williams was appointed to fill the role as Stearns County Administrator after George Rindelaub retired in March. His last day as city administrator will be Sunday.

Staehling knows it will take some time to adjust to the position but is ready to continue his work with the city of St. Cloud.

"It's just doing more of what I'm already doing. Getting away from the legal side and getting into the administration side. I'm just looking forward to continue to work with all these great leaders," says Staehling.

The St. Cloud City Council still needs to vote to approve Staehling into the position, which is expected to take place during Monday's city council meeting.
