BIG LAKE — A former Big Lake man has been charged with possessing child pornography.

The Big Lake Police Department says they began investigating Peter Guevara in June 2011. Investigators seized several computers and storage devices allegedly containing images and videos of children in nude and sexually suggestive positions and in some cases sex acts.

The 44-year-old Guevara was charged with 17 felony counts in the case Tuesday. Police say he is not in custody and lists a Woodbury address.

Chief Joel Scharf says if they believed there was a public safety concern, a warrant would be issued for Guevara’s arrest. His first court hearing is scheduled for March 6th.
