Chester 'Chet' Palmer, age 77, of Rice, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Mayhew Lake. The Rev. Tom Bueckers will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM Friday at the church in Mayhew Lake. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred.

Chester 'Chet' Palmer was born July 1, 1937 in Hinkley, MN to Austin and Marian 'Jane' (Jones) Palmer. He married Lucy Beack July 24, 2004 in Ronneby, MN. Chet was a graduate of Beardsley High School and was member of the Army National Guard and past member of the Willmar Eagles Club. He worked for the Lakeland Bakery and Showboat Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Chet was considered a neighborhood watch-dog and enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, sporting events, and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a kind and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor and was very loving and affectionate.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy; daughters: Lori (Dan) Norheim, Carrie (Gary) Olmscheid; grandchildren: Jamie (Nic) Loidolt, Chris (Becky) Olmscheid, Jessica Olmscheid and Isabelle Norheim; 7 great grandchildren; step-children: Wes (Jane) Beack, Wayne (Kim) Beack and Laura (Ken) Lopez; 12 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; siblings: Donald, Arlys (John) Brown, Hazen 'Red' (Marlys), Toddy Stickland, Dean (Carol), Patricia (Gary) Cardwell, Darryll (Beth) and Sandra (Richard) Arndt; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents: Austin in 1962, Marian in 2008; brother-in-law, Larry Stickland and sister-in-law Mary Palmer.
