Charles “Chuck” Winthrop Gardner, age 78, of Princeton, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Princeton Elim Home. He was born on February 9, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Charles and Isabel (Bradt) Gardner.

Chuck grew up and attended school in Minneapolis graduating from Washburn High School the Class of 1954. He was united in marriage to Alta Quick on December 7, 1957. He then served in the United States Army from 1958-1960. Following his discharge from the Army, Chuck attended College to become a hairstylist. The couple lived in Bloomington for 44 years where they raised their family. Chuck was a gentle kind man that went out of his way for everyone. He was musically inclined and loved to sing at weddings and do karaoke. He was a very active person who enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, motorcycling, golfing, bicycling, skiing and lifting weights. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed dearly by many.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years Alta of Princeton; children, Laura (Ken) Noard of Zimmerman, Paul (Molisa) Gardner of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan and Ben Noard and Gillian and Gracie Gardner; siblings, Sherman (Nancy) Gardner of AZ and Leigh (Joann Lewis) Gardner of FL; along with many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton.
