MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities in Minneapolis have charged the father of a 10-year-old boy whose body was found in the Mississippi River with 2nd-degree murder.

The criminal complaint charging Pierre Barlee Collins cites cell phone location data that police said places him near the spot in the river where Barway Collins' body was found.

It also says Collins held two life insurance policies on his son and had asked his insurer about raising the coverage on one policy two days before the boy went missing.

The complaint says Barway's body had duct tape around his feet and torso when it was found by searchers. The boy had been missing nearly a month.
