ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A St. Paul woman is accused of attacking her 9-year-old stepson with a baseball bat and chasing him to a school where he sought refuge.

Twenty-four-year-old Tashay Johnson is charged in Ramsey County with terroristic threats and malicious punishment of a child.

The boy was shoeless and wearing pajamas when he ran into an elementary school in St. Paul Wednesday, yelling "My mom is trying to kill me."

The charges allege Johnson chased the boy. The principal intervened and called police.

A teacher had escorted the boy home earlier that day and spoke with Johnson about his behavioral problems. After the teacher left, Johnson allegedly hit the boy in the head with a baseball bat.

Johnson reportedly denied hitting the boy and threatening to kill him.
