Changes to Clark Field To Be Proposed [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD — Clark Field could get a serious facelift if a proposal would be passed by the St. Cloud School Board.
The board will be given a presentation by Tech Alumni Association President, Jim Dahl during their working session tonight (Wednesday).
Proposed changes include adding artificial turf, removing and replacing the west grandstand and a restructuring of walkways.
School board chair, Bruce Mohs says it’s important to keep in mind that this is just a proposal.

The project would need to jump through several additional hoops and receive recommendation from administrators before the board could actually vote on it.
No cost has been estimated yet. Mohs says the district doesn’t have the resources to provide for major upgrades.

Funds will be raised through pledges by the alumni association. Naming rights could also be sold.
Clark field opened in 1942 as part of a New Deal project.
