Central MN Home Construction Spikes in First Half of 2016
ST. CLOUD -- It's been a good year for home builders in central Minnesota. A building permit report released by the Central Minnesota Builders Association shows a big jump in the first six months of the year compared to the same time last year.
The report lists 149 single-family housing permits issued in their survey area compared to 116 in 2015.
St. Cloud led with 45 permits, followed by 35 in Sartell, 30 in Sauk Rapids, and 11 in St. Augusta.
CMBA President Craig Schoenberg says "2016 looks to be one of the strongest years for housing starts in the past decade."
