ST. CLOUD - To commemorate the birthday of Louis Braille, the Central Minnesota chapter of the National Federation of the Blind hosted an educational workshop at the St. Cloud Library.

Items and technology that assist blind people today were on display at the workshop. Braille books, playing cards, and bingo cards were all some of the items the public could view.

Members of the Federation of the Blind were also on hand to discuss and answer questions about being blind in today's society. Beth Moline was at the workshop and says she's always happy to answer questions on the topic.

Moline was also using a slate and stylus to write out visitors names in braille. Moline says she does it quite often for those who wish to see how Braille writing is done.

Additional information on blindness and the technology being used today can be found on the National Federation of the Blind website.
