CentraCare Neurologist One of Three “Spirit of Women” Award Winners

ST. CLOUD - CentraCare Health Foundation has released the names of their 2012 "Spirit of Women Awards" winners.

The program recognizes the efforts of central Minnesota women dedicated to promoting safe, healthy living.

One of this year's recipients is CentraCare Neurologist Dr. Kathleen Rieke. She won the award in the "Healthcare Hero" category after being nominated by a colleague.

Rieke says she's humbled by the win.

Dr. Rieke is active in many programs at both the state and local level, including the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.  She educates women with epilepsy on living healthy, active lives.

Dr. Rieke received the honor along with "Young Person Role Model" recipient Jennifer Fleegel and "Community Hero" category winner Maxine Olson.

All three women won $1000 for a community project of their choice and will be considered for the National Spirit of Women award.
