SARTELL - The economy as a whole might be struggling, but the state of central Minnesota Healthcare is as solid as ever.

CentraCare Health System released their 2011 financial report today at their "Report to the Community" meeting.

They announced an increase to 5.96 percent in their operating margin - up from 5.44 percent in 2010. Net assets also grew by 32 percent, and revenue by about 6 percent.

Dr. Terry Pladson is the president and CEO of CentraCare Health System. He says these numbers are very promising.

Pladson says recruitment of top-notch professionals has made the greatest impact on the success of the organization.

CentraCare Health System employs the greatest number of people in Central Minnesota at around 6,000.

They're planning to open a new $ 225 million expansion to the St. Cloud Hospital in the spring of 2012.
