Census: St. Cloud Household Income, Food Stamp Use Rise
ST. CLOUD - The U.S. Census Bureau has released their latest statistics from the 2011 American Community Survey.
The median household income in St. Cloud was $41,400 last year - that's up from $40,000 the year before.
The number of families in St. Cloud living below the poverty line was 13.9% in 2011 - up from 12% the year before.
The survey says 16.7% of St. Cloud household use food stamps in 2011 - much higher than the 10.7% in 2010.
The survey also indicates 12.4% of St. Cloud residents have no health insurance.
The number of St. Cloud households with unmarried partners rose to 5.7% in 2011 - from 3.5% in 2010.
And the percentage of St. Cloud residents born in another country is up to 7.6% - up from 4.8% in 2010.
