ST. CLOUD -- The holiday's will be here before we know it and Catholic Charities are asking you to spread some holiday cheer this season buy adopting a family.

Catholic Charities Share the Spirit program matches families who are experiencing hard times with businesses, residents or organizations who want to adopt a family for Christmas.

Communications Coordinator Trina Dietz says while it may seem early to talk about Christmas shopping, the process to adopt a family can take some time.

"Families have to get the gifts from their social works, they have to get the gifts from us, donors need to shop and drop off the gifts and we have to match the families to donors which can take some time," says Dietz.

Dietz says families are nominated by area social workers and donors are provide with some information to make the gifts personal.

"They give us information like clothing and shoe size, a list of their wants and needs so donors have a pretty strong shopping list of what you should be getting for your family," says Dietz.

People interested in adopting a family are asked to spend about $70 per family member and all donors and recipients are confidential.

If you are interested in adopting a family you can visit www.ccstcloud.org for details and to fill out the only donor form.
