Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Tuesday February 24, 2015 at the Church of St. Benedict in Avon for Catherine Wiechmann who died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will be on Wednesday at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call from 9-11AM on Tuesday at the church in Avon. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon.

Catherine was born in Lake Henry to Joseph & Bertha (Moser) Fuchs. She married Elmer A. Wiechmann on September 10, 1946 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. She and Elmer farmed in the Upsala area for many years until retiring and moving back to Avon in 1993. She was a homemaker who loved to bake, can, garden, knit and sew. She loved to play cards especially her favorite game 500. She was a generous and sincere woman who loved her family very much. She is a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon and was a 50 year member of the Christian Woman’s group of St. Benedict’s Parish.

Survivors include her children, Theresa (Larry) Eikmeier of Austin; Rosie (Vernon) Ashfeld of Rockville; LeRoy (Trudy) Wiechmann of Sartell; Loretta (Marvin) Fischer of Avon; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer in 2008, infant grandsons, Timothy and Thomas Ashfeld, siblings, Ed, Clem, Raymond, Martin, Leo, Joseph Fuchs, Eleanor Maile, Anna Doll, and Clara Maile.
