The Gopher men's basketball team won their first round NIT game 70-61 at La Salle in Philadelphia Wednesday night. Minnesota rallied in the 2nd half and shot 52 percent from the field. La Salle shot 47 percent. The Gophers were led by Rodney Williams with 21 points, Austin Hollins had 16 points and Andre Hollins had 13 points.

The Twins defeated Roy Halladay and the Phillies in Clearwater, Florida Wednesday afternoon. Chris Parmalee hit a 3-run homerun and Halladay threw just 2 2/3 innings with 5 earned runs allowed to take the loss. Jason Marquis threw 4 innings with 8 hits and 4 earned runs to get the win. Denard Span added 3 hits for the Twins.

The Vikings have reportedly agreed to sign free agent tight end John Carlson from Litchfield, Minnesota Wednesday to a 5-year $25 Million contract. Carlson visited the Vikings facility today and agreed to the deal. Carlson was a 2nd round pick by Seattle in 2008 but missed all of last season with a shoulder injury.

Moss worked out with the 49ers this weekend with 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh throwing him passes.
