The SCSU men got a putback basket from Tim Bergstrasser to complete their comeback. SCSU trailed by 13 points with 7:46 left in the game. Brett Putz led the Huskies with 22 points.

Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named as a Western Conference All Star reserve. This marks the 2nd straight year Love has been named an All Star. Love is averaging 25 points and 13.7 rebounds a game this season. Love also says he'll participate in the 3-point shooting challenge at the All Star game too. The NBA All Star festivities will take place in Orlando February 24-26.

The Minnesota Wild lost 5-2 Thursday night to Vancouver at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Dany Heatley gave the Wild a 1-0 lead scoring just :13 seconds into the game. That sets a franchise record for quickest goal. Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi each scored a goal and Niklas Backstrom had 15 saves for the Wild.

The 22nd ranked Wisconsin Badgers beat the Gopher men's basketball team 68-61 in overtime Thursday night at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Minnesota came from down 13 points in the 2nd half to tie the game at 51 and had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation but shot attempts by Andre Hollins and Austin Hollins did not go in for the Gophers. Wisconsin took back control of the game in overtime.

Timberwolves rookies Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams were each chosen to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge to be held during the All Star weekend on February 24 in Orlando, Florida. TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal will chose the players for each team.

The Timberwolves lost 85-80 at Memphis Wednesday night to snap their 3-game winning streak. J.J. Barea led the Wolves with 17 points and 6 assists, Derrick Williams added 13 points and 9 rebounds and Ricky Rubio chipped in 4 points, 1 assist and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes for Minnesota.

The Timberwolves beat Sacramento 86-84 Tuesday night at Target Center without their top scorer and rebounder, Kevin Love who is serving a 2-game suspension for stomping on the face of Houston forward Luis Scola. Derrick Williams started in place of Love and scored 14 points and added 8 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Ricky Rubio added 14 assists.

The Minnesota Wild lost 3-1 at Columbus to the Blue Jackets Tuesday night. Nate Prosser scored the lone Minnesota goal and Niklas Backstrom had 34 saves. The Wild were outshot 37-29. The Wild failed to score on the power play while Columbus had 2 power play goals.

The Gopher men's basketball team won 69-61 at Nebraska Sunday afternoon to keep themselves alive for a NCAA tournament berth. Minnesota trailed by 1 at halftime and got 40 points off the bench. Chip Armelin led the Gophers with 15 points and Julian Welch added 10 points.
