Members of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa are voting on whether to allow alcohol sales at its casinos in Thief River Falls and Warroad. The voting takes place Wednesday at community centers in Red Lake, Redby, Little Rock and Ponemah.

Minnesota President: Additional Complaints Against Teague

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler says the school has received "a small number" of additional complaints of sexual harassment by athletic director Norwood Teague since Teague resigned. Kaler says any complaints are being turned over to an outside law firm looking into the Teague matter.

Fire Chief, 5 Others On Leave Following Nursing Home Death

The fire chief and five members of his department in the Twin Cities suburb of Maplewood have been placed on administrative leave, apparently over the death of a woman at a nursing home. Police Chief Paul Schnell says firefighters and paramedics were called to the Good Samaritan Society nursing home Aug. 7 where a 71-year-old woman with Parkinson's disease had stopped breathing and was unconscious.

DNR Warns Chippewa Group Against Treaty Rights Test

The Dayton administration has warned a group of Chippewa Indians who plan to harvest wild rice without state licenses later this month that they risk prosecution and seizure of their rice and equipment. Supporters of the 1855 Treaty Authority, which is independent of the state's tribal governments, plan to gather wild rice on Hole-in-the-Day Lake in Nisswa on Aug. 27.

Minnesota Man Convicted of Killing Neighbor in Feud

A Minnesota man has been convicted of killing his neighbor in a long-running feud over deer feeding and other disputes. A jury in St. Paul on Tuesday found 58-year-old Neal Zumberge, of New Brighton, guilty of first-degree premeditated murder and other charges in the May 2014 shooting of Todd Stevens - who was arguing with Zumberge's wife, Paula - and of the attempted murder of Steven's girlfriend, Jennifer Damerow-Cleven.
