Senate Passes Vikings Stadium Bill
The Viking Stadium bill made more progress late Tuesday night when it passed through the Minnesota Senate floor. The senate version is different than the house in many ways. The differences between the house and senate bills need to be resolved in conference committee today or tomorrow before going before the house and senate for final approval. The major difference in the senate bill include user fees in addition to electronic pull tabs to pay for the state's portion and a $25 Million increase in financial commitment from the Vikings and a $25 Million decrease from the state.
Twins, Diamond Blank Angels 5-0
The Twins blanked the Los Angeles Angles 5-0 Tuesday night to snap a 3-game losing streak. Scott Diamond threw 7 shutout innings with 4 hits and 1 walk allowed with 6 strikeouts to get the win. Ryan Doumit hit a 2-run homerun and Brian Dozier was 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI for the Twins. Dan Haren allowed 8 hits and 5 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss for L.A.
Wild Players Nate Prosser and Jason Zucker Are Coming To St. Cloud
The Minnesota Wild have announced that current Wild players Nate Prosser and Jason Zucker will be coming to St. Cloud Wednesday June 27 as part of the Minnesota Wild road tour. Prosser is a defenseman from Elk River, Minnesota and Zucker is a rookie from Denver. The Wild road tour will stop at the MAC for a meet and greet, an oppportunity for fans to receive autographs and for fans participate in pedal cart races.
Rox Single Game Tickets Go On Sale Saturday
The St. Cloud Rox are putting single game tickets on sale Saturday May 12 at 9am at the St. Cloud Rox ticket office on the west end of the MAC, on their website at StCloudRox.com, or by calling 240-9798. Fans will be able to select the exact seat they want online and print their tickets out at home. The St. Cloud Rox begin the 2012 season at Duluth on May 30 and will play their home opener June 2.
Angels Beat Twins, Liriano 8-3
The Twins lost 8-3 at home to the Los Angeles Angels Monday night in the first game of a 3-game series. Francisco Liriano allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 earned runs in 5 innings to take the loss and drop to 0-5. Liriano's ERA is 9.45 this season. Manager Ron Gardenhire isn't happy with Liriano's performance but says Liriano will stay in the rotation. Shortstop Brian Dozier made his major league debut and was 1-4 at the plate. Erik Komatsu was 2-4 and Joe Mauer was 1-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. Jared Weaver allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run in 6 innings to get the win for the Angels.
