Thousands of high school students are picking-up a gun and joining a new sport. The "Minnesota State High School Clay Target League" is exploding in popularity. Executive Director Jim Sable says their fall league has 1,770 participants from 68 high schools.
A proposed policy that deals with transgender student-athletes in high school sports in Minnesota is generating a heavy response from those on both sides of the issue. The Minnesota State High School League says some board members have received more than 400 emails on the policy since Sunday when the Minnesota Child Protection League ran a full page newspaper ad warning that boys would be allowed to shower with girls in the locker room.

The Minnesota Twins say former manager Tom Kelly is recovering after suffering what the team calls a minor stroke last week. Twins general manager Terry Ryan says he spoke to Kelly on Monday. Kelly told Ryan that he was briefly hospitalized after the stroke, but doctors have told him that he should make a full recovery.
According to multiple sources the Twins have reportedly fired Manager Ron Gardenhire after 13 seasons with team. Gardenhire was under contract through the 2015 season. Gardenhire's coaching staff was working in the final year of their contract.
