An expansion of a government call-line service for seniors has seen staggering success in a few short months.

The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced today that they raised nearly $110,000 for area food shelves during the Community Charity Challenge in 2011.

Five St. Cloud metro area mayors will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army today (Thursday). The Mayor's Ring-A-Thon has a goal of raising $3,000, and an anonymous donor has agreed to match them up to another $3,000.
