A year ago in mid November in Central Minnesota we had 4 inches of snow on the ground, high temperatures were in the teens and ice was forming on area lakes. We are a far cry from that in November of 2023 with temps in the 40s, 50s and 60s this week, no snow on the ground and open water fishing continues.

Eden Valley-Watkins football is 11-0 heading into Friday's Class 2-A State Semifinal game against Cannon Falls at 11:30 a.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Eagles defeated Moose Lake-Willow River 60-0 in the state quarterfinals at Forest Lake High School last week to get to this point.

Bowlus has had an operating post office since 1907, a lumberyard, meat market, hair salon, restaurant, gas station, liquor store, boutique, fire department, park with bike trail going through it, Legion, and Catholic Church.
