Downtown St. Cloud is bidding to host the 2017 Governor's Fishing Opener. Julie Lunning is the Executive Director of the St. Cloud Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. She says they have a unique proposal to host the opener on three stretches of the Mississippi River.

Report: Cold Spring Downtown Upgrades Would Cost $3.2 Million

Upgrades and repairs to downtown Cold Spring will cost just over $3.2 million, according to a feasibility study. The city is looking to reconstruct County Road 2, also known as Red River Avenue. City engineer Brian Lintgen says a large part of the cost involves replacing utilities like storm sewers.

Lightning Bolt Strikes St. Cloud Garage, Minor Damage

The thunderstorm that moved through the St. Cloud metro area wasn't severe, but it did produce a lot of lightning. The St. Cloud fire department says they were called out to a garage fire, due to a lightning strike at about 5:45 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning.
