Three area fire departments responded to a wildfire yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Sauk Rapids Fire Chief Tony Hommerding says the call came in just after 4:30 p.m. for a fire in Watab Township near 10th Avenue Northwest.

Long Prairie Truck Driver Sentenced for Fatal Crash in North Dakota

A Minnesota truck driver has been sentenced to serve about 2 1/2 months in jail for a crash in North Dakota last June that killed a motorcycle driver. Fifty-six-year-old James Toner, of Long Prairie, reached a deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor aggravated reckless driving charge.
