Administrators from several Central Minnesota schools heard a presentation on Thursday at Avon Elementary from the Minnesota School Safety Center, which is part of the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security.
A community task force has recommended that the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District build a fourth elementary school and replace Pleasantview Elementary with a new building. A task force of nearly 100 community members have been gathering over the last two years as part of an ongoing facility study to address space concerns in the district.

The ROCORI and St. Cloud Apollo boys swimming teams will be combining this fall under a cooperative sponsorship. The ROCORI school board approved the co-op for the swim team on Monday night. Both ROCORI and Apollo are expecting a low number of boy swimmers to be a part of their varsity level teams next year.
