WINONA (AP) - Winona County authorities say crews have pulled a car from the Mississippi River that was reported stolen 14 years ago.

Sheriff Dave Brand  says Thursday that the Army Corps of Engineers found the car while dredging the river Tuesday. Crews retrieved the car from about 6 feet of water near Winona.

Investigators say license tabs on the four-door blue Oldsmobile expired in 2000 and there were still keys in the ignition. The plates tracked back to owners who reported the car stolen from their driveway in the fall of 2000.

Bran says it's unclear how long it was submerged. He says the sheriff's office isn't pursing an investigation but the Winona Police Department could look into the case.

Brand says the owners have moved to Wisconsin.
