ADAMS (AP) -  A 16-year-old girl has died of injuries suffered when her car collided with a school bus in southern Minnesota.

A passenger in the car was severely injured in the crash Wednesday afternoon near Adams in Mower County.

Sheriff's officials identify the girl as Tess Landherr. Authorities say the car she was driving spun out of control on an icy road and hit the school bus.

A Southland school district administrator says the school children and bus driver weren't seriously hurt, although some may have minor injuries.

Landherr and the passenger were taken by ambulance to a Rochester hospital. Landherr did not survive.

Officials of Southland Public Schools did not know how many students were on the bus or the extent of their injuries.
