ST. CLOUD -- The southeast St. Cloud fire station will be retro-fitted with a sprinkler system after it caught fire last October. The city council approved spending nearly $41,000 as part of the ongoing work to repair the building.

The fire, which started in a truck-bay, caused about $1-million in damage. It started because of an electrical problem in one of the trucks.

The city has insurance coverage on the building and two damaged trucks. But, the sprinkler system isn't covered by the policy, so the fire department will use its special revenue fund to pay for it.
