Buffalo Woman Hurt When Bike Struck by Pickup Trailer

BUFFALO - A Buffalo woman was hurt when the bike she was riding collided with a pickup. The State Patrol says it happened at 7:00 a.m. this (Friday) morning at the intersection of Highway 55 and County Road 35 in Wright County.

A pickup and trailer driven by 18-year-old Tyler Amy of St. Michael was going south on County Road 35. It stopped at a red light, then started to make a right turn when it turned green. Meanwhile, 40-year-old Cari Backes of Buffalo was on her bike waiting at the crosswalk. She started to cross when the light turned green and was struck by the trailer.

Backes was taken to Buffalo Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
