Bruce E. Rust, 61, Royalton

In accordance with his wishes, graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls for Bruce E. Rust, 61, of Islamorada, FL who passed away on Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
Bruce Eugene Rust was born on November 23, 1954 in Glenwood, MN to Dewayne and Pearl (Daniels) Rust. He worked in Boiler Utility Maintenance for Anoka Metro Regional Facility for over 30 years, retiring in 2011. Bruce also served his country in the United States Navy from 1972 – 1974 and also continued his service in the Naval reserve for 20 years. He was a member of the Becker American Legion Post 193 and the St. Cloud VFW Post 428. He married Linda (Fellows) Tollefson on July 22, 2006. Bruce enjoyed helping people. He was generous with his time, teaching Firearm Safety Courses and was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Becker. Bruce also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and traveling. He and Linda embarked on many adventures, searching for antique cookie jars and lived by the motto, “never take the same road twice”. Bruce was kind, caring and considerate. However, he loved a competitive game of cards and dominoes.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Royalton; children, Brian of Becker, Bradley of Becker, Melissa (Troy) Gartner of Fargo and Lindsey (Jeron Rennie) Tollefson of Eagan; and brother, Robert (Kathy) of Villard. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale.
