Brenda A. Haavisto, 70, Waite Park

Brenda Ann Haavisto, age 70, of Waite Park died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial services will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN

She was born March 23, 1947 in Cokato, MN to Emil and Evelyn (Larson) Myllyla. Brenda grew up in the French lake and Annandale area. She was married to Donald Haavisto on June 14, 1969 at the French Lake Lutheran Church in French Lake, MN. Three children were born into this union, Wanda, Cathy and Mark. Don and Brenda were later divorced. Brenda worked at the Buffalo Dry Cleaners for many years before moving to St. Cloud where she worked at the Quality Dry Cleaners for over 10 years before her health forced her to quit. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, growing beautiful flowers and spending time with her family.

Brenda is survived by her children, Wanda (Butch) LaRue of Clarion, IA, Cathy Haavisto of Waite Park, MN, and Mark Haavisto of Virginia, MN and by her granddaughter, Elaine Crandall of Clarion, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
