Tuesday night’s section playoff final scores and highlights.

Alexandria 4, Sartell 1

The Alexandria Cardinals defeated the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres 4-1 Tuesday night in a Section 6A Quarterfinal matchup at Bernick’s Arena in Sartell.

Alexandria took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission thanks to a Ryan Marcianiak goal at 11:04 of the first period. The Cardinals outshot Sartell 11-7 in the opening period.

Alexandria got a pair of goals in the second period to take a three goal lead while outshooting Sartell 15-5. Toby Helgeson scored at 3:55 and Matt Resch made it 3-0 at 7:19.

Patrick Leary scored for the Cardinals at 7:35 of the third period to give Alexandria a four goal lead. Sam Zwiener scored the Sabres lone goal at 13:06.

The Cardinals will face Little Falls Thursday at the MAC

St. Cloud Apollo 10, Wadena-Deer Creek 0

St. Cloud Apollo blew out Wadena-Deer Creek 10-0 at the MAC Tuesday night in a Section 6A Quarterfinal game. Jared Christen scored four goals for Apollo and Jason Omann had six assists in the game.

Nick Althaus made 25 saves in the shutout for the Eagles. Apollo will face Fergus Falls on Thursday night at the MAC in St. Cloud.

Bemidji 6, St Cloud Tech 2

St. Cloud Tech saw their season end in a Section 8AA QF matchup Tuesday night at Bemidji by a 6-2 final score. Braden Altena and Tanner Skaja scored for Tech in the loss.

Bemidji scored a couple of goals 1:14 apart halfway through the first period, but Tech battled back with a pair to tie the game at two at the first intermission.

Bemidji would add two goals in each of the second and third periods, and goaltender Gabe Heifort kept the Tigers off the board for the remainder of the game.

Shots on goal were 30-25 in favor of St. Cloud Tech.

Moorhead 8, River Lakes 2

The Stars season ended Tuesday night with an 8-2 loss at Moorhead in the Section 8AA Quarterfinals. Moorhead led just 3-2 halfway through the second period before rattling off five unanswered goals for the win.
