ST. CLOUD - The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota has named their 2012 Youth of the Year Award winner.

The final portion of the competition, including speeches by each of the candidates, was held on Saturday at the Eastside Boys and Girls Club.

Cham Odol was selected by a panel of judges over three other finalists for the title. Her prizes include a $2,000 scholarship and the chance to compete in the Minnesota State Youth of the Year Competition.

Odol is a senior in high school and has been involved in all types of community and leadership work with the Boys and Girls Club since she was 11 years old. She says it's made an undeniable impact on her life and future.

Odol says, after graduation, she's planning to enroll at MSU Mankato to study social work.

Other finalists in the competition included Andrew Guettler,  Kendyll Spells and Kameren Steven.

Youth of the Year competitors have the chance to advance to the national contest where they could win a $10,000 scholarship.
