ST. PAUL (AP) - Police say they don't yet know the identity of a body recovered from the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul.

Sgt. Paul Paulos says there's no information about whether the deceased is male or female. The body was found Wednesday afternoon by someone who spotted it floating in the river.

Police say that with several individuals missing in the metro area, other law enforcement agencies will be investigating. A medical examiner will work to confirm the person's identity.
