BRAINERD -- Brainerd police say a body recovered from a lake apparently is that of a missing 23-year-old man.

Police recovered the body from Boom Lake in a park in Brainerd on Saturday night. The body was submerged in just over 6 feet of water about 100 feet from shore.

Authorities believe the body is that of Brandon Rich, a missing vulnerable adult. Rich was last seen Wednesday night, and investigators believe he may have left his home to go to downtown Brainerd.

Police were called to the lake after wet clothing was found near a park building. The clothing was identified as belonging to Rich.

The incident remains under investigation.
