BRECKENRIDGE  (AP) - Three teenage boys were treated for hypothermia after their small boat capsized and sank on a western Minnesota river.

Wilkin County sheriff's officials say the three friends, all 17, were on the Otter Tail River near Breckenridge Monday night when the trolling motor on their flat-bottom boat failed. The current caused the boat to flip and all three were thrown into the river.

One of the boys swam to get help while the other two grabbed onto a log. The Breckenridge Fire Department responded with its boat and rescued the two.

Sheriff Rick Fiedler says the best advice is to stay off the river when it's so swollen.
