ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission has picked the candidate they want to lead Metro Bus.

Spokesman Tom Cruikshank says the selection committee sent two names to the board for consideration and the MTC board chose Ryan Daniel as the winning candidate on a unanimous vote.

Daniel is the manager of Bus Service for the Washington D.C. Metro Area Transit Authority.

Cruikshank says if Daniel accepts the job, he must pass a background check, drug test and psychological exam. If the two sides can agree on a contract, Cruikshank says they hope to have Daniel here by August.

Daniel would replace David Tripp who retired in April after 33 years at the helm of Metro Bus.
