Blue Jackets Top Wild In Preseason Opener Tuesday

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Wild 3-1 Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center in their preseason opener. Nino Niederreiter scored the Wild's lone goal.

The Jackets got the only goal of the first period, then scored two more goals before the second period's halfway point.

Neiderreiter's goal came at 10:09 of the second on the power play, and was assisted by Charlie Coyle and Mikael Granlund.

The Wild outshot the Jackets 21-17.
