ST. CLOUD - You can expect to be able to enjoy a cold beer at all St. Cloud State University home hockey games next season.

State Representative Tama Theis of St. Cloud says her bill to allow beer sales at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center passed yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. The SCSU beer sales bill was attached to a "Local Licensing Bill", which was a part of the "Supplemental Bill".

Governor Mark Dayton still needs to sign the bill into law. And then the next step will be for SCSU to apply for a liquor license from the city.

University officials asked Theis to introduce the legislation.

SCSU sold beer at two games this past season on a trial basis. Currently MnSCU restricts alcohol sales at campus events to once every 30 days.
