Bigfork Man Killed in Northern Minnesota Car Crash
DEER RIVER (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says a 27-year-old man from Bigfork was killed when his car collided with a semi in Itasca County.
The patrol's news release says the crash happened Monday evening. The driver, identified as Samuel Deotis, was driving a Chevy Lumina on a highway about 12 miles north of Deer River when he turned left and was broadsided by a semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old female passenger of the car was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth where she is in critical condition. The truck driver was not injured.
