St. Joe Mayor: ‘Best Part of the Job Connecting With People’ [AUDIO]

ST. JOSEPH – When Rick Schultz started his first term as mayor of St. Joseph two years ago, his goal was to take a “hands-on,” strategic approach to the job.
By all indications, that approach has paid off.
The unopposed and newly reelected Schultz says he’s excited by the progress he’s seen during his tenure – including ongoing discussions on a community center, along with more distant plans regarding a Wobegon Trail extension.
Schultz says the two years passed quickly, and he’s looking forward to continued progress during his next term.

Schultz is a 28 year resident of St. Joseph and no stranger to public office. He was previously on the St. Joe city council and the Stearns County Park board before being convinced by a few community members to run for mayor.
Schultz says the thing he loves most about being mayor is the time he gets to spend talking with, and listening to people.

As for life outside of city government, Schultz balances his mayoral duties with his day job in I.T. for technology company Landis Gyr.
