ST. CLOUD - Dozens of people came out Wednesday night with diapers in hand for a good cause. The Beaver Island Brewing Company in downtown St. Cloud held their "Pints For Pampers" event to help collect donations for the second annual "Operation Baby New Year".

Everyone who brought a package of diapers got a free pint of beer.

John Torgerson is the COO of Bernick's in St. Cloud . Bernick's partnered with Target Corporation and donated about 12,500 diapers.

Bernick's is all about families and giving back to the community, and we like to do grassroots efforts.  You know this whole thing came together really well.  We just kicked it around in the office and said let's be a part of this effort.

Torgerson says it's exciting to be a part of the effort.

It's just fun to see everyone jump in on a fire bucket line and stack a pile of diapers high.  And, as well as join everyone else that's here to do the same thing.  It's the holiday season and an exciting time of the year, and people are smiling, and it's all around a beverage people can enjoy.  Yeah it's a good time.

Beaver Island Owner Nick Barth says a total of over 30,000 diapers were donated Wednesday night.

"Operation Baby New Year" continues until January 1st. They have a goal of collecting 200,000 diapers this year, which is double what they raised last year.
