Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Bernadine “Bernie” Ramler, age 90, who died peacefully Wednesday at the Cherrywood Assisted Living Center surrounded by friends and family. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the church gathering space. Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.

Bernie was born in St. Martin, MN to Henry and Ida (Luken) Poepping. She married Peter Ramler on November 26, 1946 in St. Patrick’s Church, Melrose. Bernie was a homemaker who always took care of others. She cared for children and neighbors, loved baking, and was a detailed cleaner. Her hands were never idle! Bernie’s hobbies included playing cards with her “Tuesday” group, bingo, and an occasional casino trip when she could talk Tom into it!

Survivors include her children, Diane (Mark) Plantenberg, Tom (Carol) Ramler; sister, Beata (Sylvester) Theis; in-laws, Mildred Sand, Millie Poepping, Bernadette Cordie, June Poepping; grandchildren, Aaron (Alisa) Plantenberg and their son, Mateo, Stephanie (Jim) Scherbing and their son, Hunter, Andrea (Luke) Beehler and their children, Aubrey and Holden, Heather (Darren) Nathan and their daughter Lilly and baby due in July.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ramler; children, infant Gerald and 6 other infants; siblings, Marie (Al) Thomas, Frank (Tillie) Poepping, Joseph Poepping, Norbert Poepping, Jerome (Rita) Poepping, Ralph Poepping, Alfred Poepping, and Henry Hallerman.

Bernadine’s family would like to extend their appreciation for the staff at Cherrywood Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Birthline or online donations to CMYFC Adventure Camp (www.cmyfc.org).
