Benton Drive Work to Start Monday

SAUK RAPIDS -- Reconstruction work on Benton Drive starts up Monday, forcing you to detour around a two-block section near the Coborn's Superstore.

The first phase will be from Second Street South by the Coborn's entrance to 4th Street South. It will close a portion of Benton Drive until the end of June.

As part of this project, a five-leg intersection at 5th Street South will be re-configured to a four-leg intersection. That phase will be started at a later date.

The cost of the project is approximately $1.7-million and will be paid for primarily with half-cent sales tax dollars.  The entire project will be completed in August or September.
