FOLEY -- Benton County will test its new mass notification system tonight.

Benton County recently updated its notification system and as a result had to buy a new database of phone numbers through public sources. Some of the older numbers in the previous system were likely eliminated in the changeover, so Benton County will make a mass phone call at 7:00 p.m. to all numbers on file.

The call will give the county the chance to check their list of numbers and also serve as a reminder about severe weather at the start of this Severe Weather Awareness Week.

If you have signed up to be part of the call system and don't receive a call, you can visit the Emergency Notification System on Benton County's website and sign up to be called in case of severe weather and other civil emergencies.

You can register cell phones, land lines and emails.
