Benton County Sheriff’s Office Offering Free Gun Locks

FOLEY -- The Benton County Sheriff's Office is offering free gun locks to help keep children safe.

Sheriff Troy Heck says they're partnering with Project ChildSafe to offer up the locks for free...

They've been doing their work for a very long time where they're trying to get these gun locks into homes and make sure people are securing their firearms.  They want to make sure children don't accidentally get them or the firearms don't fall into the hands of people that shouldn't have them.

Heck says they gave out more than 100 of the locks at summer festivals and wanted to bring the program back for the holiday season.

The free gun locks are available in the lobby of the Benton County Sheriff's Office in Foley.
