FOLEY -- Despite the lack of snow, the Benton County Sheriff's Office will be holding a Youth Snowmobile Safety Course later this month.

Kids ages 11-18 are eligible and will need to complete the classroom portion on their own through the instructional CD. The CD's are available through the DNR website or the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Then, on February 21st, the students will go through the testing portion of the certification at the Sheriff's Office in Foley. Snowmobiles will be provided during testing and the event will be held regardless whether there is enough snow or not.

To register, students must send an e-mail with their name, date of birth and contact information to the Benton County Sheriff's office at snowmobilesafetyco.benton.mn.us.
